Getting Started with Karmyq

When you first use Karmyq, a short guided intro appears in each section of the platform. These overlays explain what the section is and how to use it — you only see each one once.

Your Feed

The feed surfaces help requests from your communities, ranked by urgency, trust, and relevance. Tap any request to offer help or ask a question. When your offer is accepted, it becomes a Commitment.

Communities

Communities are the foundation of Karmyq. All requests, reputation, and trust relationships are community-scoped. There are two types:

  • Mutual aid — neighbours sharing help and resources
  • Group — organised around shared recurring activities (sports, clubs, fitness)

Help Requests

Requests let you ask your communities for help. Karmyq supports five types: general, ride, service, event, and borrow. The platform uses your trust network to match you with the most relevant helpers.

Activities

Activities are scheduled events inside group communities. Join to participate, earn karma, and strengthen your ties within the group. Capacity is capped — spots are first-come first-served.

Dismissing and Resetting

Each intro overlay can be skipped at any time. Once dismissed, it won't appear again on that device. If you want to see an intro again, clear your browser's localStorage for karmyq.com.
